Use the list below to navigate specific topics about Daily Jigsaw.

How to play

Daily Jigsaw is quite similar to our own regular Jigsaw game. However, instead of taking puzzles from a specific group of pictures, Daily Jigsaw has a brand new themed picture every day to complete, and you can browse through the last 14 days of puzzles of the month.

To select a puzzle, simply click on the day you'd like to play. To play earlier puzzles, you can move through the menu by using the arrows on the sides to move forward or backward, or you can use the scroll bar below to navigate.

The Jigsaw game has a very simple and easy-to-learn interface. When selecting the date, you'll be automatically greeted with the three difficulty settings.

You can pick the Easy, Normal or Hard difficulty settings. On these settings, all that changes is the number of pieces that the puzzle will be made out of. The game will always have the same time limit, and the picture will not change in complexity with the difficulty settings.

This is how the puzzle will load on your screen. The timer will also start as soon as the puzzle is shown. You will have 8 minutes to drag and drop the pieces, to create the starting image. The pieces will automatically attach to the correct ones when placed beside one another.

NOTE: Since the pieces are automatically placed with their correct side up, they do not need to be rotated. Every piece is already correctly rotated.

Here is a short explanation of what each element of the puzzle does:

  1. Timer. This is your game timer, that tells you how long you have to complete the puzzle. The timer will always show 8 minutes, no matter the chosen difficulty.
  2. Zoom. With this option, you can drag and drop the magnifying glass to the left and right, to make the puzzle pieces larger or smaller depending on what you prefer.
  3. Groupings. If you're confused about the pieces being messy and out of order, this option will place the pieces into different types of placements, so that you can locate the necessary ones with more ease while you play.
  4. Full Picture. This icon will let you look at the full picture you're trying to achieve with the puzzle.
  5. Pause. Click on this option to pause the game at any time.
  6. Drawer. If you need more order in your pieces, you can place them in this drawer, You can click on the arrow to open or close the drawer at any time. The pieces will always appear in the order which you've placed them.

The Pause Menu will give you several different options:

The Sound icon in the middle will allow you to mute the game's sound. Tips will give you a guide on how the game works. Credits allows you to see the team that worked on this game. Quit and Resume allow you to quit the game early, or return to it from the pause menu.

How is the Score calculated?

General formula:

Final score = (10 * percent) + (Difficulty Bonus * percent) + (Time Bonus * 10);

Percent = value from 0 to 1.

NOTE: the percent is calculated by the number of pieces in the biggest group divided by the total number of pieces

EXAMPLE: If there are two large groups, such as one with 20 and one with 15 out of 35-piece puzzle, the percent would be 20/35= 0.571

Difficulty Bonus: EASY: 1000 points; MEDIUM: 2000 points; HARD: 3000 points

Time Bonus = 480 (8 min) minus the time spent.

Max possible score: EASY = 5810; MEDIUM = 6810; HARD = 7810.
